Motors and gearmotors
A gearmotor is a drive device that is usually a non-separable, integrated combination of an electric drive with a mechanical transmission and sometimes with additional devices such as a one-way clutch, brake, etc. Thanks to its compact design, a gearmotor takes up several (and sometimes several) times less space than a ‘distributed’ drive system.
Gearmotors
A geared motor is a drive device which is usually an inseparable, integrated combination of an electric drive with a mechanical gearbox and sometimes with additional devices such as a one-way clutch, a brake, etc. Thanks to its compact design, a geared motor takes up several (and sometimes more than a dozen) times less space than a "distributed" drive system.
