Column crane
This is a variation of the double-girder crane equipped with a column hoist (usually swivel) incorporating a manipulator or forklift handle that allows the load to be retrieved from a storage area and placed in machinery or on storage racks. They are characterised by the presence of a column to stabilise the rope on the winch.

Column cranes are widely used in warehouses, workshops, loading bays and in spaces where a full overhead or gantry crane could not be installed. The use of such cranes makes sense in areas where rigid load guidance of large components with different diameters is required.
